
RU Places 13th at Nittany Lion Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Rutgers women's golf team finished 13th with a 965 (323-315-327) team score at the Nittany Lion Invitational, played Saturday and Sunday at the Penn State Golf Course. Freshman Brittany Weddell (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) paced the Scarlet Knights and finished tied for 13th in the 90-player field after carding a 233 (75-75-83) on the par 72, 6,300-yard course.
Sophomore Lizzy Carl (Mendota Heights, Minn.) also performed well in the high-level event, shooting a 240 (82-79-79) to place tied for 42nd. Sophomore Kristina Lee (Haddonfield, N.J.) carded 250 (82-86-82) and junior Jeanne Waters (West Sayville, N.Y.) turned-in a 251 (89-79-83). Sophomore Elisa Mateer (Marmora, N.J.) rounded out the team scorecard with a 254 (84-82-88).
Rollins College won the 16-team tournament with a 909 (300-296-313) effort, 16 stroked ahead of host Penn State (925). PSU freshman Emily Ransone captured medalist honors on her home course with scores of 71-74-73 (218).
The Scarlet Knights return to the links next weekend (October 9-10), when they host the Rutgers Invitational at the Rutgers University Golf Course. RESULTS
