The women’s golf team earned the highest cumulative GPA for all Rutgers athletic teams during the fall 2008 semester, topping the list with a 3.519 team GPA.
"The women's golf team has worked very hard both in the classroom and on the golf course, and it shows in their results,” said head coach Maura Ballard. “I am very, very proud of this team."
Six golfers—freshmen Kirsten (Sachiye) Day (Alhambra, Calif.), Lauren Heiba (Bridgewater, N.J.), Anne McNiel (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Brooke Stepanek (Guilford, Conn.), as well as sophomores Jeanne Waters (West Sayville, N.Y.) and Daley Owens (Taylorsville, Utah) – earned Dean’s List honors during the fall semester.
The Rutgers Women’s Golf team will open up their spring campaign in the Northern Illinois Snowbird Intercollegiate tournament in Tampa, Fla. on March 12-13.
