RU in 11th Place After Opening Round of Snowbird Invitational

Tampa, Fla. – The Rutgers women’s golf team is in 11th place with a 331 team total after the opening round of the Snowbird Invitational, played Thursday at Pebblecreek Golf and Country Club. Sophomore Jeanne Waters (West Sayville, N.Y.) paced the Scarlet Knights and is tied for third place in the 101 player field after shooting an opening round 74.
Waters had three birdies on the par 72, 5,940-yard course.
Elisa Mateer (Marmora, N.J.), LIzzy Carl (Mendota Heights, Minn.), Kristina Lee (Haddonfield, N.J.) and Daley Owens (Taylorsville, Utah) comprise the RU scorecard in RU’s opening event of the spring season. Mateer carded an 84 on Thursday, while Carl turned in an 85.
The 17-team event, hosted by Northern Illinois, concludes tomorrow. Stetson and Georgetown head into Friday tied for first place with 309 totals
