Rutgers Places 14th at UCWSI

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - The Rutgers women's golf team finished in 14th place at the UC Women's Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of Cincinnati at the Plantation Golf Resort and Spa.
The Scarlet Knights carded 329-322-331 as a team, good for an overall score of 982. Baylor University won the event, shooting 918, with fellow BIG EAST member USF earning second place with a 921.
Freshman Lizzy Carl (Mendota Heights, Minn.) led the Knights individually, compiling a 241 on the tournament (73-86-82). She finished in 36rd place in a deep and talented field. Sophomore Jeanne Waters (West Sayville, N.Y.) placed one stroke behind Carl, ending up in a tie for 37th place with a 242(83-77-82). Daley Owens (Taylorsville, N.J.) was third on the RU scorecard, shooting 88-78-82 to record a 248 and tie for 52nd place. Elisa Mateer (Marmora, N.J.) recorded a 258 to finish tied for 76th place, while freshman Anne McNiel (Jacksonville, Fla.) ended the tournament playing her best golf of the weekend. She finished with a 260 (88-87-85) and an 82nd-place tie.
The Rutgers women's golf team will be back in action on the links this Monday and Tuesday when they travel to Washington, D.C. to compete in the Georgetown Invitational. RESULTS
