Rutgers Announces 2010 Football Recruiting Class

PISCATAWAY,N.J. (February 3, 2010) - Rutgers head football coach Greg Schiano announced Wednesday that 22 high school standouts have signed to play football for the Scarlet Knights beginning in the fall of 2010. In addition, Rutgers already secured commitments from three mid-year enrollees, to bring the signing class total to 25.

The Scarlet Knights ended the 2009 season 9-4 overall after a 45-24 victory over UCF in the St. Petersburg Bowl. It was the fourth consecutive bowl victory and the fifth straight bowl appearance for Rutgers. RU is one of five teams in the country to win four consecutive bowl games and Rutgers has averaged nine wins per season over the previous four years.

Betim Bujari, Matt McBride and Frank Quartucci are enrolled at Rutgers and will take part in spring practice, which is set to begin in March.
