Monique Oliver Receives Conference Recognition

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (December 6, 2011) - Rutgers women's basketball junior forward Monique Oliver (Las Vegas, Nev.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday. Oliver helped the Scarlet Knights to a 2-0 record last week, with wins over Temple and Florida.
Oliver shot 63 percent from the floor for 14.0 points per game, while chipping in 8.5 rebounds per game. Oliver added eight blocks and four steals for the week, including a season-high five blocks against Temple.
Oliver pulls in RU's first weekly honor of the season and the second of the junior's career.
Rutgers looks to bounce back from Monday night's double-overtime loss to No. 9 Miami on Thursday with a matchup against Fordham. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the RAC.
