Rutgers Tennis Sweeps Lehigh

Bethlehem, Pa. (Feb. 3, 2011) - The Rutgers tennis team (1-1) dropped Lehigh (0-1) by a score of 7-0 Thursday inside the Lewis Tennis Center.
The Scarlet Knights opened the match strong, sweeping all three doubles matches, 8-2. Senior Amy Zhang (Plano, Texas) then upended Lehigh’s Taylor Hampshire 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles for her first win of the season.
Junior Jen Holzberg (Easton, Conn.) was pushed in the first set and had to win in a tiebreaker, but rallied to win 7-6 (5), 6-0. Freshman Vanessa Petrini downed Kathleen Larkin (6-2, 6-4) for her second-straight win of the season.
The Scarlet Knights head to West Point, N.Y. for a 10 a.m. match at Army this Saturday, Feb. 6.
