Rutgers Tennis Blanks Seton Hall, 7-0

Manasquan, N.J. (March 29, 2011) – The Rutgers tennis team (12-5, 3-2) upended instate rival Seton Hall, 7-0, Tuesday at the Atlantic Club. RU has won six-straight and seven of its last eight matches.
Senior Amy Zhang (Plano, Texas) scored four-straight points in the final set to win the tiebreaker, defeating Seton Hall’s Pui Wing Sher 7-5, 3-6, 10-8. Jen Holzberg (Easton, Conn.) took out Rocio Portela at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 7-5. The junior paces RU with 15 wins in 2011.
As a duo, Zhang and Holzberg crushed Sher and Portela by an 8-2 score. Junior Maryana Milchutsky (Holmdel, N.J.) won her 13thmatch of the season with a 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Courtney Kilarski at No. 4 singles. Leonora Slatnick (Austin, Texas) and Stef Balasa (East Brunswick, N.J.) took out Lizzie Verow and Michelle Weerasinghe, 8-3.
The Scarlet Knights travel to Morgantown, W.Va. over the weekend to take on Pittsburgh and West Virginia. RU and Pitt meet Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. The Scarlet Knights will take on the Mountaineers Sunday at 10 a.m.
