
Scarlet Tops White 31-14 in Annual Spring Game

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 30, 2011) – Sophomore QB Chas Dodd (Lyman, S.C.) went 27-for-35 for 289 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Scarlet past the White 31-14 Saturday at Rutgers Stadium.
Redshirt freshman WR Brandon Coleman (Accokeek, Md.) had five catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns, while junior RB De’Antwan Williams (Woodbridge, Va.) and redshirt freshman RB Jawan Jamison (Starke, Fla.) each had a rushing touchdown for the Scarlet squad. Jamison also had a score for the White team.
Williams opened the scoring with the game’s first touchdown – a one-yard run that capped an 11-play, 70 yard drive. Jamison carried twice for the White squad, helping tie the game at 7-7 with a seven-yard touchdown. Scarlet regained the lead at 14-7 in the second quarter on a 28-yard touchdown pass from Dodd to Coleman.
White responded after halftime with a nine-yard touchdown pass from junior QB Steve Shimko (Ewing, N.J.) to sophomore TE Junior Solice (Hackensack, N.J.) to deadlock the contest at 14. Scarlet went on to score 17 unanswered points as Coleman and Jamison both found the end zone and senior PK San San Te (Conover, N.C.) connected on a 42-yard field goal to seal the 31-14 victory.
