
2011 Rutgers Football Camps Start This June

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (June 6, 2011) - The members of the Rutgers Football staff will host players from across the country at this summer's football camps on the campus of Rutgers University.
At all of the camps at Rutgers, campers will have the opportunity to work directly with Rutgers' position and strength coaches, as well as some of the finest college and high school coaches from around the country.
Kickoff for the week of camps begins on June 24 with a pair of one-day events as youngsters entering grades 6-8 will have a camp in addition to a Specialists Camp for place-kickers, punters, and long snappers for players entering grades 9-12.
The 7-on-7 Shootout returns Saturday, June 25 as some of the region's top teams compete in the 7-on-7 passing tournament. The shootout has been a great competitive summer teaching tool for varsity programs as they gear up for the start of the high school season in August.
The overnight camp of the summer is scheduled from June 26-June 29 for high school players entering grades 9-12. The four-day camp will give the attendees a chance to practice and improve their skills in a variety of ways, led by the tutelage of the Rutgers Football staff.
The final camp event for the summer is Junior Camp on June 30 as kids entering grades 1-5 get the chance for a day of fun playing football at Rutgers.

Rutgers opens the 2011 campaign Thursday, September 1 at Rutgers Stadium versus North Carolina Central. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
