
RU Pacing the Field at Bison Invitational

LEWISBURG, PA - The Rutgers women's golf team is in first place with a 304 team score after the opening round of Bison Invitational, played Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Course. Freshman Kortnie Maxoutopoulis (Pleasanton, Calif.), playing in her first collegiate event, is tied for first overall with an even par 70.
The second round of the Invitational was rained out on Sunday after nine holes. The remainder of the second round and the entire third round will be played on Monday.
Maxoutopoulis is tied with Ann Colligan of St. Francis (Pa.) to pace the 80-player field. Fifteen teams are competing in the event on the par 70, 5,863-yard course.
Senior Lizzy Carl (Mendota Heights, Minn.) also performed well and is tied for 6th overall with a 76. Junior Brittany Weddell (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) is among the top 20 competitors as well, after carding a 77 to sit tied for 16th.
Junior Karen Cash (Allendale, N.J.) and senior Elisa Mateer (Marmora, N.J.) round out the team scorecard. Cash is tied for 41st with an 81 and Mateer is tied for 53rd with an 84.
BIG EAST rival Seton Hall is in second place with a 306 total. Lehigh is one stroke behind the Pirates in third place at 307. RESULTS
