
Monique Oliver Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PISCATAWAY (December 10, 2012) - Rutgers senior forward/center Monique Oliver (Las Vegas, Nev.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after helping the Scarlet Knight women's basketball team to a 2-0 week averaging 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, and 3.0 steals in wins over LIU Brooklyn and Louisiana Tech.
In Rutgers' 58-32 victory over LIU Brooklyn last Thursday, Oliver became the 32nd Scarlet Knight to reach the 1,000 career-point mark with a game-high 18 points along with a career-high six steals.
Oliver then added in a team-high 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor to go with five rebounds and a season-high four blocks in the 74-46 Maggie Dixon Classic victory against the Lady Techsters Sunday at Madison Square Garden.
Additionally, Oliver shot 6-of-7 (86 percent) from the line on the week.
On the season, Oliver is averaging a team-best 12.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game
The Rutgers women's basketball team begins a three-game home stand this week beginning with Southern on Wednesday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the RAC.
