
Rutgers Tennis Unveils 2012 Fall Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (July 26, 2012) - The Rutgers women's tennis program has released its 2012 fall schedule, 10th-year head coach Benjamin Bucca announced. The team compiled 13 wins last spring, and is scheduled to compete in three tournaments, one home match and one away match.
The Scarlet Knights will kick off the fall season hosting NJIT at the Rutgers Tennis Complex on Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. After starting the season at home, Rutgers' first tournament of the fall will be the Brown Invitational in Providence, R.I. The tournament will run from Sept. 21-23, with Brown also hosting Binghamton, Boston College and Boston University.
The October schedule will begin with the three-day USTA Invitational, beginning on Oct. 6. The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (NTC) in Flushing, N.Y., the home of the US Open, will be the site of the tournament. Eighteen teams from across the country will participate.
Rutgers will make the short trip to Princeton to take on the Tigers on Oct. 16, before heading to its final tournament of the fall, the ITA Northeast Regional. Hosted by Army in West Point, N.Y., the tournament will run from Oct. 19-22 and will consist of 44 teams from the northeast region.
