
Khaseem Greene Named Preseason All-America by SI.com

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (August 9, 2012) - Rutgers senior linebacker Khaseem Greene (Elizabeth, N.J.), the 2011 Co-BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, was named a Second Team Preseason All-America by Sports Illustrated Thursday. Greene was the only player from the BIG EAST selected to the SI.com Preseason All-America team.
Greene is coming off one of the most prolific seasons in Rutgers football history. He led the BIG EAST and ranked 12th nationally with 141 tackles en route to All-BIG EAST First Team honors. Greene ranked fifth in RU single-season history with the 141 stops and earned All-America honors from SI.com and Phil Steele.
Greene was a key member of a Scarlet Knight defense that ranked among the national leaders in total defense (14th), scoring defense (8th), pass efficiency defense (5th),pass defense (9th), sacks (15th) and tackles-for-loss (8th) last season.
