PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 18, 2013) - Freshman 141-pounder Tyson Dippery (Harrisburg, Pa.) won the 47th annual East Stroudsburg Open on Sunday, Nov. 17, taking a 12-1 major decision in the final bout to win his first collegiate tournament.
Dippery went 5-0 at 141 pounds on the afternoon, outscoring the opposition 47-2 in five bouts. He earned a 16-0 tech fall over Navy's Cory Morgan, won by a 4-1 decision over East Stroudsburg's Jordan Toledo and defeated Bucknell's Connor Lapresi by a 15-0 tech fall to reach the finals.
In the final bout, Dippery topped Patrick Hogan, 12-1, to finish the day unblemished and take his first tourney crown.
The Scarlet Knights are back in action on Friday, Nov. 22, when they travel to Clarion, Pa. to face Clarion University in their third dual match of the season.
