Kahleah Copper Named To American Athletic Conference Honor Roll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (December 2, 2013) - Sophomore forward Kahleah Copper (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll for a second time this season following her performance at the Barclays Women's Basketball Invitational over Thanksgiving weekend.
Copper helped Rutgers to a 1-1 record and was named to the Barclays Women's Invitational All-Tournament Team averaging 15.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
In RU's 69-65 loss to No. 15/17 LSU on Friday afternoon, Copper went 8-of-11 from the field for 16 points along with eight rebounds. She followed by narrowly missing a double-double on Saturday with a 14-point, nine-rebound effort in the Scarlet Knights' 61-52 victory over Texas Tech. Copper also registered a career-high four steals against the Lady Raiders.
On the season, Copper is fourth in the American in scoring averaging 16.9 points per game and fifth in the league in rebounding at 7.7 boards per game.
Earlier this season, Copper was named to the American's Honor Roll after averaging 19.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in Scarlet Knight victories over Northeastern and La Salle.
The Rutgers women's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Davidson. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
