
Rutgers Women 8th after Two Rounds of Yale Intercollegiate

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Rutgers women’s golf team is in eighth place with a 610 (308-302) team score after two rounds at the 17-team Yale Intercollegiate, played Friday and Saturday at The Course at Yale. Sophomore Gabrielle Sacheli (Pittsford, N.Y.) is pacing the Scarlet Knights thus far, carding an eight over 150 (76-74) to enter Sunday’s final round tied for 17th in the 91-player field.
Sophomore Jackie Mullens (Brookside, N.J.) joins Sacheli among the top 30. She is tied for 27th with a 152 (77-75).
Sophomore Samantha Moyal (Alameda, Calif.) and freshmen Maddy Gedeon (Roseville, Calif.) and Taylor Clark (Sterling Heights, Mich.) comprise the rest of the Rutgers scorecard. Moyal tied for 36th with a 155 (78-77), Gedeon is tied for 51st with a 158 (82-76) and Clark is 62nd with a 162 (77-85).
Tournament host Yale leads with a 584 (292-292), five strokes ahead of second place Xavier University. Individually, Yale’s Elisabeth Bernabe is atop the leaderboard with a one-under 141 (69-72). She is the only competitor at or below par.
The third and final round tees-off Sunday morning.
