
Rutgers Women Tied for 13th at Nittany Lion Invite

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. –Rutgers women’s golf is tied for 13th with a 310 total after the first round of the 14-team Nittany Lion Invitational, played Friday at the Penn State Blue Course. Freshman Taylor Clark (Sterling Heights, Mich.) is tied for 15th in the 92-player field entering Saturday’s second round.
Sophomore Jackie Mullens (Brookside, N.J.) is also among the top 40 competitors on the par 72 6,263-yard course. She is tied for 39th with a 78.
Freshman Maddy Gedeon (Roseville, Calif.) and sophomores Racquel Zurick (West Trenton, N.J.), Gabrielle Sacheli (Pittsford, N.Y.) and Samantha Moyal (Alameda, Calif.) comprise the rest of the Rutgers scorecard. Gedeon and Zurick are tied for 55th with 79’s, while Sacheli and Moyal are tied for 65th with 80’s.
Yale carded a 289 and holds a four shot lead over tournament host Penn State at the 54-hole event. Tee times for Saturday are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
