Women's Tennis Hosts ASA College

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Oct. 1, 2014) - The Rutgers women's tennis team hosts ASA College on Thursday, Oct. 2. The match is set for 2 p.m. at the RU Tennis Complex.
The Scarlet Knights continue fall competition after a strong showing at the Brown Invitational, which took place from Friday, Sept. 19 to Sunday Sept. 21. The event was highlighted by juniors Gina Li (Hillsborough, N.J.) and Mariam Zein (Sugarland, Texas) capturing a third-place finish in the Bear Doubles Flight.
Rutgers registered solid performances across the other events as well. The duo of senior Lindsay Balsamo (Wall, N.J.) and freshman Lee Levy (Haifa, Israel) secured a victory in the consolation match of the Eagles Doubles Flight. In singles play, Zein won the consolation of the White Draw.
Last season, ASA College made history by winning the school's first ever NJCAA Championship. The Lady Avengers wrapped up the season at 8-4 overall, including matches against NCAA Division I and Division II teams.
Following Thursday's match, Rutgers travels to New Haven, Conn. on Oct. 10 for the Yale Invitational.
