Personal Bests at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (October 4, 2014) - Rutgers women's cross country's top four runners all captured personal bests at the 41st annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday. The Paul Short run is one of the largest cross country meets in the nation boasting over 5,500 runs from over 400 teams, including three top national-ranked squads on the women's side.
"We ran very well with runners one through four all running personal bests," said head coach James Robinson. "Our fifth and sixth runners were freshmen running their first ever collegiate 6K race. Running against high level competition will assist us in preparing for championship season."
The Scarlet Knights were led once again by junior Paige Senatore (Delsea, N.J.) who improved upon last year's time by 30 seconds. The junior Scarlet Knight finished 76th overall with a time of 21:26 on the 6K course.
Behind Senatore were senior Brianna Deming (Webster, N.Y.) with a time of 21:47, freshman Megan Coakley (Tinton Falls, N.J.) clocking in at 21:58 and senior Allison Payenksi (Whitehouse Station, N.J.) finishing in 22:00.
Rounding RU results were freshman Julia DeSpirito (Medford, N.J.) with her time of 22:58, freshman Alexandra Juzwiak (North Middletown, N.J.) cross the finish line in 23:11 and sophomore Kaitlyn Bedard (Ringoes, N.J.) collected a t time of 23:13
The Rutgers women's cross country team returns to action at the Metropolitan Championships on Friday, Oct. 10th at Van Cortlandt Park.
