Rutgers' Brandon Coleman Earns NFL Combine Invite

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (February 7, 2014) – Former Rutgers standout wide receiver Brandon Coleman (Accokeek, Md.) has earned an invitation to the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Coleman will perform in front of all 32 NFL teams at the combine February 22-25.
Over 300 of the top college football players are invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. Top executives, coaching staffs, player personnel departments and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams will be in attendance to evaluate the players eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft.
The NFL Scouting Combine will be held February 22-25 with live coverage on NFL Network.
Coleman is the seventh player since 2008 at Rutgers to leave school early and enter the NFL Draft. Rutgers has five players who were wide receivers in Piscataway currently in the NFL – Kenny Britt (Tennessee Titans), Mark Harrison (New England Patriots), Mohamed Sanu (Cincinnati Bengals), Tiquan Underwood (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Tim Wright (Tampa Bay Buccaneers).
The 6-foot-6 Coleman finished his career with 20 receiving touchdowns, tied for first in Rutgers’ history. In 39 career games and 27 starts at wide receiver, Coleman totaled 94 receptions for 1,808 yards. He averaged 19.2 yards per reception in his career.
Coleman has three of the 10 longest receptions in school history (92, 86, 85). In 2012, he was an All-BIG EAST Second Team selectionafter totaling 43 receptions for 718 yards and 10 touchdowns. The 10 touchdown receptions tied a school single-season record.
Coleman is a two-time conference all-academic team selection and is one semester away from earning his degree.
