
Scarlet Knights 7th at American Championship

PALM COAST, Fla. - Rutgers women's golf is seventh with a 664 (336-328) total after two rounds at the American Athletic Conference Championship, played Sunday and Monday at Hammock Beach Resort. RU's 328 on Monday was the sixth-best team score during round two.
Sophomore Christina Paulsen (Ridgewood, N.J.) paced the Scarlet Knights on both day one and two. She carded an especially strong 76 on Monday and is tied for 18th in the 38-player field with a 159 (83-76).
Sophomore Gabrielle Sacheli (Pittsford, N.Y.) and freshman Taylor Clark (Sterling Heights, Mich.) are tied for 31st with identical 168 (84-84) efforts. Freshman Maddy Gedeon (Roseville, Calif.) is tied for 33rd with 169 (85-84) and sophomore Samantha Moyal (Alameda, Calif.) is 36th with a 174 (87-87).
UCF, ranked No. 17 in the most recent Golfweek collegiate rankings, is in first place with a 36-over par 612 (307-305). The Knights are 12 strokes ahead of second place and No. 35-ranked Louisville (314-302=616). SMU is in the show position with a 621 (315-306).
SMU's Jenny Haglund is atop the leaderboard with a three-over par 147 (76-71) on the par 72 course. She is three strokes ahead of second place Ashley Holder of UCF.
The third and final round will begin at 8 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday.
