No. 9 WSOC Gets Rematch With No. 6 PSU in College Cup Semifinals

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - No. 9 Rutgers women's soccer will match up with No. 6 Penn State in the 2015 Women's College Cup Semifinals on Friday, Dec. 4 in Cary, N.C. First touch at WakeMed Soccer Park is set for 5 p.m.
Rutgers (19-3-3) played No. 1-ranked Virginia (19-1-3) to a scoreless draw Friday in Charlottesville, Va. and advanced with a 7-6 penalty shootout victory in nine rounds. Penn State (20-3-2) defeated No. 4-ranked West Virginia (19-3-1), 2-0, Saturday in University Park, Pa., to set up the all-Big Ten Conference semifinal.
Media interested in covering the 2015 Women's College Cup must apply for credentials through the NCAA by noon on Monday, Nov. 30. The credential application form is available here.
The Scarlet Knights will play in the first College Cup in program history against the Nittany Lions, who make their fifth trip.
RU topped PSU, 1-0, at Yurcak Field on Oct. 18 in the regular season meeting between the two schools. The Nittany Lions evened the season series in the Big Ten Championship match, besting Rutgers, 2-0, on Nov. 8 at Jeffrey Field.
All three matches of the 2015 Women's College Cup will be televised live nationally on ESPNU. The winner between Rutgers and Penn State will advance to the Women's College Cup Final on Sunday, Dec. 6 and play the winner of No. 2 Florida State (18-2-4) and No. 20 Duke (13-5-5). The College Cup final is set for a noon start.
