Copper Named to Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - After being named Paradise Jam Tournament MVP, senior forward Kahleah Copper (Philadelphia, Pa.) picked up another honor, earning recognition on the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday.
Copper averaged 23.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and shot .628 from the field to steer Rutgers to the tournament title. The Scarlet Knights picked up wins on three consecutive days, downing Tulane, Virginia and Green Bay, all of which reached the post season last year.
The senior forward led RU in scoring in all three games including 28 points against Tulane, 21 points vs. Virginia and 20 against Green Bay. She also hauled in eight boards in the contests with the Cavaliers and Green Bay.
Copper moved past former teammate Betnijah Laney on the RU all-time scoring leaders list and became the 14th Scarlet Knight with over 1,400 career points. She currently has scored 1,411 points in her four seasons.
The senior Scarlet Knight collects her second Big Ten weekly recognition, after earning Co-Player of the Week on Nov. 16.
