PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Guided by four Scarlet Knights in double-figures, the Rutgers women's basketball team extended its win streak to four and ended nonconference play with a 69-57 victory over LSU on Saturday afternoon at the RAC.

RU improved to an overall record of 9-3, having won eight of its last nine contests, while LSU dropped to a mark of 6-5.

Junior Tyler Scaife (Little Rock, Ark.) registered a game-high 18 points, followed by senior Kahleah Copper (Philadelphia, Pa.) with 15 points. Sophomore Shrita Parker (Va. Beach, Va.) and freshman Khadaizha Sanders (Kankakee, Ill.) each registered career-highs to round out the double-figure scorers with 12 points and 11 points, respectively.

Three Lady Tigers finished in double-digits as Alexis Hyder led her squad with 16 points and seven rebounds. Anne Pederson followed with 11 points, while Rina Hill added in 10 points in the loss.

Down 6-4 early, Rutgers responded on a 6-0 run with 5:01 to go in the first quarter to take over the lead. The back and forth battle continued as the margin remained as close as one across the following four minutes, however, Rutgers was able to establish a 20-15 edge with less than a minute to go in the frame.

The teams traded points into the second quarter as LSU managed to tie up the count at 25-25. From there, the Lady Tigers used their momentum to generate a 7-2 run and reclaim the lead for the first time since the 6:22 mark of the first quarter.

Parker responded to the burst by registering back-to-back three pointers, returning the lead to RU at 33-32 and igniting a 10-2 run for the Scarlet Knights to close the first half. Rutgers carried a 37-34 edge into the locker room.

Rutgers kept its pace moving into the second half. After LSU's Alexis Hyder knotted the game at 37-37 moments in the third quarter, RU exploded for a 16-1 run, with five different Scarlet Knights in the scoring mix, to control the lead for good.

Jenna Deemer notched the Lady Tigers first points of the fourth quarter with a four-point play to set the margin at 59-46 with 6:55 to go. However, RU held tight to its control, following with five consecutive points capped by a three-pointer from Briyona Canty (Willingboro, N.J.) to give the Scarlet Knights their largest lead of the night at 64-46.

RU maintained at least a 12-point cushion for the final four minutes of the game to close out with a 69-57 victory.

Rutgers returns to the hardwood on Thursday, Dec. 31 for its Big Ten opener against Minnesota at the RAC.

KNIGHT NOTES:
- Rutgers closes out nonconference play at 9-3 overall having won its last four-straight contests and eight of its last nine games.
- Four Scarlet Knights finished in double figures for the first time since Fe.b. 17, 2015 against Illinois.
- Tyler Scaife was two points shy of posting her fourth consecutive game with 20 or more points. She finished the game leading all scorers with 18. It was her sixth game of the year and 42nd of her career leading RU in scoring.
- With her 18 points, Scaife moved up two places on the all-time scoring leaders list, surpassing Monique Oliver (2009-13) and Patty Coyle (1978-82), into 25th place. She now has 1,217 points. She needs 10 more points to move past Julie Salmon (1982-86) into 24th all-time.
- Kahleah Copper poured in 15 points and needs 19 more points to become the 11th Scarlet Knight to score 1,500 career points.
- Shrita Parker netted a career-high 12 points and tied her career-high with four assists. The sophomore Scarlet Knight resets her previous career-high of 11 points captured against Virginia in the Paradise Jam Tournament and vs. Michigan at home last season. Parker also had four assists last year in the regular season finale with Indiana.
- Khadaizha Sanders ended the afternoon with a career-high 11 points, her first double digit scoring effort of her career. She netted seven of her 12 points in the second quarter.
- LSU, who held a +3.9 rebounding margin entering Saturday's game, was outrebounded by the Scarlet Knights, 35-28. Rutgers has either tied or outrebounded its opponent in its last eight games.
- Rachel Hollivay led RU on the boards with seven rebounds, one short of tying her season-high.
- Hollivay swatted away six Tiger shots and now has 256 career rebounds. It was her seventh game this season with three or more rejections and 44th of her career.
- Rutgers finished the game shooting 27-of-52 from the field, hitting at a 51.9 percent clip. RU has shot 50 percent or better from the floor in five of the season's 12 contests.
