Davis on Nancy Lieberman Watch List

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers senior point guard Syessence Davis (Neptune, N.J.) is among the 30 candidates for the 2015 Nancy Lieberman Award, recognizing the top point guard in the country, it was announced today by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.
Davis currently ranks fifth nationally in assist/turnover ratio (3.11) and sixth in the country in steals (3.4) and leads the Big Ten in both categories. She has dished the ball out a total of 85 times this season with only 30 miscues and has committed two or fewer turnovers in 17 of the Scarlet Knights' 22 games to date.
The senior guard is currently tied for fifth all-time at Rutgers in steals with 263, having tied the school record with 10 thefts against Penn State on Feb 1. She is also on pace to crack RU's top-10 assist leaders list having led the Scarlet Knights in the category eight times this season and handing out the ball five or more times in a game on nine different occasions.
Davis nearly captured a triple-double as Rutgers closed out the nonconference schedule at Iona on Dec. 20. She registered 12 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists against the Gaels.
Additionally, Davis has been largely responsible for Scarlet Knight opponents averaging 19.5 miscues per game.
