PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers senior forward Betnijah Laney (Clayton, Del.) earned her seventh weekly distinction from the Big Ten Conference on Monday as she was named to the league's Honor Roll.
Laney averaged 19.0 points and 12.0 rebounds last week for the Scarlet Knights as RU closed out the regular season. She added in a team-high 21 points and hauled in 11 boards in Rutgers' loss at No. 25 Northwestern last Thursday and helped her squad rebound with 18 points, 13 boards and five assists in the senior day win over Indiana. Her performances were her 17th and 18th double-doubles of the season respectively.
On the season, Laney is adding in 16.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. In Big Ten contests, she is averaging 16.7 points and 9.7 boards per contest.
The accolade marks Laney's seventh weekly award from the conference having landed Big Player of the Week three times and earned Honor Roll distinction on four occasions.
