RALEIGH, N.C. - Freshman Stacey Anning (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) set a new PR and took fourth place in the javelin to highlight the Rutgers women's outdoor track and field results at the Raleigh Relays this weekend.
The Scarlet Knights, in their second meet of the outdoor season, battled inclement weather with cold temperatures, rain and high winds.
Anning, who took first last week at the USF Bulls Invitational, bettered last week's mark by over 13 feet. The freshman Scarlet Knight took fourth at a distance of 45.89m (150' 6").
A pair of Rutgers relay teams place fifth. The Scarlet Knight 4x200m squad of Imani Beauliere (Union, N.J.), Kaprice James (Roselle, N.J.), Oksana Sokolova (Old Bridge, N.J.) and Christina Dibernardo (Woodbury, N.Y.) ran to a time of 1:41.18, while the sprint medley relay team consisting of James, Sokolova along with Sabrina Alexander (Millstown, N.J.) and Sarah Robbie (Marlton, N.J.) clocked in with a time of 4:08.07.
Additionally, RU's 4x400m relay time picked up an early season-best in their appearance. The team of Nicole Nicholas (Jersey City, N.J.) , Sokolova, Dibernardo and Jillian Grant (Old Bridge, N.J.) posted a time of 3:57.34.
The Rutgers women's outdoor track and field team returns to action at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Virginia on April 3-4.
