PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Senior Gabrielle Farquharson (Williamstown, N.J.) has qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships and will compete in the 200m and long jump.
The Big Ten Champion in the 200m, Farquharson reset the Rutgers indoor record three times over the course of the 2015 indoor season. She won the conference crown in a time of 23.50, bettering her previous record from the Valentine's Day Invitational by .12 seconds.
In the long jump, Farquharson missed out on the title by just .01m, but leapt to a personal-best distance of 6.36m (20' 10 ½") on her final attempt to land in second place. She surpassed her previous PR of 6.31m set at the Metro Team Challenge and Penn State Invitational in January.
This will be Farquharson's second NCAA appearance having ran with the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2013 earning Second Team All-America and Honorable Mention All-America respectively.
BTN will air tape-delayed coverage of the Big Ten Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships at 10:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, March 8.
