PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- The Rutgers women's track and field team will be at the 121st running of the prestigious Penn Relays this weekend at historic Franklin Field. More than 22,000 athletes from around the world will convene upon Philadelphia to compete in the world's oldest and largest relay meets.
RECAPPING LAST SEASON'S PENN RELAYS:
Former Scarlet Knights Ekene Ugboaja, Tylia Gillon and Asha Ruth along with Gabrielle Farquharson (Williamstown, N.J.) took eighth in the 4x200m relay Championship of American final and the same quartet captured the ECAC Division title with a new school record in the 4x400m relay.
Additionally, Bryanna Grant (Cranford, N.J.) placed fifth in the triple jump leaping to a distance of 11.97m (39' 3 ½").
KEEP AN EYE ON:
The 4x100 relay team featuring Alayna Famble (Stockbridge, Ga.), Bria Saunders (Parsippany, N.J.), Kaprice James (Roselle, N.J.) and Jillian Grant (Old Bridge, N.J.) will be racing. Saunders is currently tied for 10th in the Big Ten in the 100m having logged a time of 11.77 and is eighth in the conference in the 200m with a finish line time of 23.91, both captured at the USF Bulls Invitational.
The Scarlet Knights will also be field a 4x200m and 4x800m relay squad.
Bryanna Grant and teammate Adrienne Williams (Hamilton, N.J.) will be jumping in the triple jump. Grant enters the weekend 12th in the Big Ten with a distance of 12.03m (29' 5 ¾") set at the USF Bulls Invitational, while Williams sits in 14th in the league with a leap of 11.35m (37' 3") at the Colonial Relays earlier this month.
Stacey Anning (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) will be competing in the javelin. She is third among all Big Ten competitors in the event, throwing for a season-best 45.89m (150' 7") at the Raleigh Relays at the end of March.

Following this weekend's Penn Relays, the Rutgers women's outdoor track and field team will be at the Tennessee Invitational in Knoxville on May 2.
