Tyler Kroft Drafted by Cincinnati Bengals

CHICAGO -- Former Rutgers tight end Tyler Kroft was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft on Friday night. The Downington, Pa. native was the 85th overall selection in draft and was the first Rutgers player to be selected.
Kroft joins the Bengals, who had three Rutgers alumni on the roster last season. Former Scarlet Knights Mohamed Sanu, Clark Harris and Kevin Brock all played for the Bengals last season.

Kroft finished his career at Rutgers with 70 receptions over 37 games, including a team-leading 43 on 573 yards and five touchdowns in 2013. He earned the Loyal Knight Award at the 2014 team banquet, which is presented to the player who displayed great character in sacrificing personal goals for the good of the team. The tight end was named to the Mackey Award watch list and averaged 20.7 yards per reception this past season. In addition, Kroft improved his blocking up front to help open holes in the running game.
