PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Recording a perfect score of 1,000 for 2013-14, Rutgers gymnastics continued its consistency in the Academic Progress Rate (APR) by putting up a multiyear score of 995 for the third consecutive year. The full national APR release was put out by the NCAA Wednesday.
"Academics are a high priority and I am proud we continue to put up a strong APR score," head coach Louis Levine said. "We want to see our student-athletes succeed in both the classroom and in the gym."
The Scarlet Knights rank in the 70th percentile of within all sports in the NCAA and are higher than the national gymnastics APR average (991).
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
