Women's Track & Field Named All-Academic Team

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- The Rutgers women's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team for the 2014-15 season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), it was announced on Monday.
To qualify for the team, schools must attain at least a 3.00 cumulative team grade point average. The Scarlet Knights achieved a 3.14 grade point average for the academic year.
In addition to their success in the classroom, the Scarlet Knight's women's track and field program also had a number of notable athletic achievements as well.
Last season, Gabrielle Farquharson (Williamstown, N.J.) was a Second Team All-American in the long jump and the Big Ten indoor champion in the 200m, silver medalist in the long jump and bronze medalists in the 60m. Also during the indoor season, Kaprice James (Roselle, N.J.) in the 60m hurdles and Bria Saunders (Parsippany, N.J.) in the 200m were All-East honorees. As a team, the Scarlet Knights took second at the Metropolitan Championships.
