Carson Signs Contact with Turkey's Canik Belediyesi

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Another former Scarlet Knight will be heading overseas following the WNBA season. Former Rutgers standout Essence Carson has inked a contract with Turkey's Canik Belediyesi.
Carson, who is currently in her eighth season in the WNBA with the New York Liberty, has averaged 7.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game over the course of her career.
Last off season, Carson played with Bnot Hertzeliya in the Israeli league. In 27 games she poured in 19.3 points per game along with 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per contest in helping the squad reach the league semifinals. She was also voted to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Second Team.
Previously, Carson has played overseas in the WNBA offseason in France (Bourges), Hungary (UNI Gyor), Italy (Venezia), Latvia (TTT/Riga), Spain (Rivas Ecopolis) and Turkey (Istanbul Universitesi).
