Pondexter Heading to Seventh WNBA All-Star Game

NEW YORK – Chicago Sky guard and former Rutgers standout Cappie Pondexter is heading to her seventh WNBA All-Star Game, it was announced on Tuesday by the league office.
Pondexter was among the six reserves chosen by the league’s head coaches to represent the Eastern Conference for the 2015 Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star being held at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Saturday, July 25 at 3:30 p.m. It will be nationally televised by ABC. Pondexter was an All-Star three times with the Phoenix Mercury and New York Liberty.
One of the league’s most decorated stars, Pondexter is currently in her 10th season in the WNBA and her first with the Chicago Sky. Over the course of her career she has been named one of the top-15 players in WNBA history, is a two-time WNBA champion (Phoenix Mercury ’07 & ‘09) and a three-time All-WNBA First Team selection.
This season, Pondexter is second on the Sky roster in scoring at 16.1 points per game to go along with 3.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game. She has scored 20 or more points in a contest five times in 2015, including a season-high 29 points in a win over the Connecticut Sun on July 12.

Fans can also get an up-close view of the WNBA All-Stars as they prepare for the big game during a pair of open and free admission practices on Friday, July 24. The East All-Stars are scheduled to practice from 3 p.m.- 3:45 p.m., while the West All-Stars will practice from 4:15 p.m.- 5 p.m.
