Tennis Begins Fall Season at Brown Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers tennis team opens the 2015 fall schedule when it competes at the Brown Invitational from Friday, Sept. 25 to Sunday, Sept. 27 in Providence, R.I.
Along with host Brown, the tournament features Boston University, Harvard, St. John's, Stony Brook and UMass.
The appearance marks the third consecutive time the Scarlet Knights will compete in the tournament.
Last fall, then juniors Gina Li (Hillsborough, N.J.) and Mariam Zein (Sugarland, Texas) highlighted the weekend with a third-place finish in the Bear Doubles Flight event. The duo captured third in the event with an overall record of 3-1 in the tournament, advancing to the semifinals.
Zein also enjoyed a successful Brown Invitational last season, concluding the event with a 2-1 record while capturing the consolation of the White Draw.
Following the invite, Rutgers will return to action from Friday, Oct. 9 to Saturday, Oct 11, when the Scarlet Knights compete in the Bulldog Invitational in New Haven, Conn.
