COLUMBUS, Ohio - In its first Big Ten Conference road game of the season, Rutgers football fell 58-0 to No. 2 Ohio State at Ohio Stadium. The loss dropped Rutgers to 2-3, 0-2 on the season, while Ohio State improved to 4-0, 1-0.

Freshman linebacker Tyreek Maddox-Williams had a game-high 11 tackles, joining sophomores Kiy Hester and sophomore Deonte Roberts, who each had 10 tackles, in double figures.

After receiving the opening kick, the Scarlet Knights moved the from the RU 13 to get inside the OSU 40-yard line. A first-down miscue forced Rutgers into a 17-yard loss facing second-and-27 from RU territory. Two plays later, Michael Cintron punted the ball to Ohio State.

Senior safety Anthony Cioffi stopped the Buckeye's first drive of the game with his second interception of the season and eighth of his career. Sophomore corner Blessuan Austin deflected a pass that found Cioffi over the middle to give possession back to RU.

Ohio State scored the first points of the game on its next possession with J.T. Barrett completing a pass to Dontre Wilson for an 18-yard touchdown. OSU missed its extra-point, but made the score 9-0 on a 33-yard field goal from Tyler Durbin in the second quarter.
