Women's X/C Set To Defend Metropolitan Title

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The two-time defending champion Rutgers women's cross country team will head to Van Cortland Park on Friday to defend its Metropolitan Championship title.
The Scarlet Knights won the 2015 team championship with three top 10 placements and former Scarlet Knight Paige Senatore capturing her second-straight individual title. A Scarlet Knight has won the individual title 13 times since 1993. Rutgers captured 61 points for the title followed by Fordham in second place with 75 points and Columbia with 83 points.
Among the current Scarlet Knights, sophomore Allyson Black raced to a third place time of 18:43.9 and junior Alexandra Juzwiak clocked in at 19:23.4 to place eighth.
Following this weekend's Metropolitan Championships, the Rutgers women's cross country team will gear up for the 2016 Big Ten Cross Country Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sunday, Oct. 30.
