Char & Allsebrook Sign with Women's Golf

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers women's golf coach Kari Williams announced today that Lorraine 'Lori' Char and Harriet Allsebrook have signed National Letters of Intent to compete for the Scarlet Knights.
"We are very excited to welcome Lori and Harriet to the R Family," said Williams. "They are both incredibly hard-working and talented student-athletes, with proven success on and off the golf course. We expect both Lori and Harriet to make an immediate impact on our program as we continue improving our tournament performances and our involvement in the community, while maintaining one of the highest program GPAs across Rutgers Athletics. We look forward to having Lori and Harriet join us 'On the Banks'!"
Char is a resident of Waianae, Hawaii and attends Kamehameha High School in Honolulu. She was ranked 3rd out of the 2017 graduates from Hawaii by Junior Golf Scoreboard. In the 2016 Aloha Section Junior PGA Championships, Char finished tied for 3rd, carding a 76-73. She also participated in the HHSAA Girls State Championship and recorded a 73-79, tying for 7th overall.
Allsebrook attends Wellington College in Crowthorne, England. Wellington has been the top ranked school for golf in the UK for the past seven years. She is currently ranked 2065th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. At the 2016 English Girls U18 Amateur Championship, Allsebrook finished tied for 20th with a 73-74-81-79. She also won the English Girls U15 Championship at Tiverton in 2013, carding a 75-72-73-79.
Women's golf is coming off another successful fall season, earning several top finishes over six events. RU placed second at the Rutgers Invitational, tied for third at the Nittany Lion Invitational, posted an 889 (307 289-993) total at the Johnie Imes Invitational and won a match play event in Waterville, Ireland. Junior captain Emily Mills won the Rutgers Invitational, while redshirt sophomore Ashleigh Greenham placed second at both the Nittany Lion and Lady Blue Hen Invitationals.
