EAST LANSING, Mich. - Rutgers football was defeated by Michigan State, 49-0, Saturday afternoon in front of 73,701 fans at Spartan Stadium. Sophomore linebacker Deonte Roberts produced a game-high 17 tackles for the Scarlet Knights in the loss.
MSU quarterback Tyler O'Conner threw for three touchdowns, including a pair to tight end Josiah Price in the first half. Running back LJ Scott paced the Spartans with 22 carries for 122 yards and a score, while Madre London contributed two touchdowns on the ground.
RU returns home next Saturday to face Penn State at 8 p.m. The game will broadcast on Big Ten Network.
