Women's Basketball Four-Game Homestand Begins Sunday with Bryant

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers women's basketball team is back home for its next four games kicking off the homestand with Bryant on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the RAC. The first 500 fans will receive a free 2016-17 season t-shirt.

WELCOME BACK
The Rutgers women's basketball team is back home after closing out a four-game road trip with a 64-34 setback at Princeton on Friday afternoon.
With its first-ever meeting with the Bryant Bulldogs on Sunday, the Scarlet Knights kickoff a four-game homestand. The upcoming slate will also include Duke in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Bucknell and CAA Champions James Madison in the span of five days.
Against the Tigers on Friday, KK Sanders and Desiree Keeling led RU with seven points each, with Keeling leading all players on the boards with nine rebounds. Victoria Harris came off the bench to tie her career-high with six points and a career-high eight rebounds.
ABOUT BRYANT
The Bulldogs are coming off their first loss of the 2016-17 campaign after opening the year at 3-0. After victories over Vermont (63057), Holy Cross (76-74) and Brown (70-67), Bryant suffered a 62-60 setback at New Hampshire on Tuesday night.
Senior forward Alex Klein leads Bryant at 20.7 ppg and 10.3 rpg. Junior guard Ivory Bailey, a two-time Second Team All-NEC honoree, is averaging 15.8 ppg and 6.3 rpg. Additionally, senior center Morgan Olander is hauling in 7.8 rpg to go along with 8.5 ppg.
The Bulldogs finished at 18-13 overall and 14-4 in the NEC a year ago, including a 10-0 start in conference play.
PROTECTING HOMECOURT
The Scarlet Knights have had an outstanding track record of success at home. The Scarlet Knights went 12-5 at home in 2015-16, with four of the five setbacks against team featured in the polls (Top 25 - Ohio State, Maryland, Michigan State; Receiving Votes - St. John's; Not Ranked: Virginia).
Since the 2002-03 season, the Scarlet Knights have gone 173-35 (.832) at the RAC.
NEWS FROM DOWNTOWN CHARLOTTESVILLE
After shooting just 13.3% (2-of-15) from 3-point range at Wake Forest last Thursday night, the Scarlet Knights showcased their 3-point prowess in the following game at Virginia last Sunday night.
Rutgers went 8-of-16 (.500) against the Cavaliers, knocking down the most 3-point shots since last season's season opening victory at Saint Joseph's. Against the Hawks, RU shot 8-of-12 from beyond the arc.
Leading the way was sophomore Aliyah Jeune, who knocked down four of her eight attempts from downtown. It was the most 3-pointers made by a Scarlet Knights since Shrita Parker drained four against Ohio State (1-24-16) and Tyler Scaife at Saint Joseph's (11-13-15).

Rutgers will host Duke on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. in the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
