PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Competing in its third ACC/Big Ten Challenge, the Rutgers women's basketball team (1-6) dropped a 68-32 decision to Duke (8-1) on Thursday night at the RAC.

During halftime of the contest, the Scarlet Knights retired Rutgers great Cappie Pondexter's No. 25 jersey. With a storied career, Pondexter becomes only the third Scarlet Knight on the women's side to have her jersey retired joining June Olkowski and Sue Wicks. More on the career of Pondexter can be found here.

Rutgers was led by Aliyah Jeune with eight points while Shrita Parker followed with seven. Kandiss Barber reset her career-high with eight rebounds to go with six points.

Duke was led by Rebecca Greenwell with 11 points, including six rebounds. Oderah Chidom, Lexie Brown, and Krya Lambert followed with nine points each.

The Blue Devils raced to a 13-0 lead within the first four minutes of the contest. Jeune put the Scarlet Knights on the board with 4:40 to go in the opening quarter. However, Duke pushed to a 24-5 at end of the first frame.

The Blue Devils held control by outscoring Rutgers, 15-8, in the second quarter. The Scarlet Knights continued to struggle from the field going 5-of-25 over the first half as the Blue Devils continued to extend their advantage to carry a 39-13 lead into halftime.

Returning from the break, Duke rattled off 11-straight points to a 50-13 lead with 6:17 to go in the third quarter. Rutgers responded with an 11-7 run across the remainder of the frame. The late energy was not enough to cut into the Blue Devils' advantage. Duke went on to lead by as many as 38 to close the night with the win.

Rutgers remains home to host Bucknell on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. and James Madison on Monday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
