
Ali Named to Big Ten All-Championship Team

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - After scoring a 9.875 on floor exercise at the Big Ten Championships, freshman Riahanah Ali (Ann Arbor, Mich.) earned a spot on the All-Championship Team. Her mark tied for first place in the opening session of the competition held Saturday at Nebraska. The number helped the Scarlet Knights to a 49.000 team score in the second rotation, attaining that total the last four outings.
Ali, who competed in the event all 12 times as a rookie, reached at least at a 9.800 the last seven times on floor exercise. She scored as high as 9.900 to set a Rutgers season-high individual performance at home on March 6. In addition, Ali also put up a 9.875 in the Big Five Qualifier held March 12.
Ali additionally earned spots in the vault (9.825) and uneven bars (9.625) at the Big Ten Championships.
