Men's Golf Concludes Seventh at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - Shooting a one-under-par during the second round, Rutgers men's golf finished seventh with a two-round, 12-over-par 580 (297-283) at the Princeton Invitational, held at the Springdale Golf Course in Princeton, N.J.
Shooting a one-under-par 283 as a team during the second day of play, the Scarlet Knights produced the second-lowest round two total of the tournament, trailing only invite champion Duke in the final round.
The Blue Devils shot a 25-under-par 543 to capture the Princeton Invite, followed by Harvard with a nine-over-par 577. Princeton secured third-place honors with a 10-over-par 578.
After shooting a two-over-par 73 in the first round, sophomore Toks Pedro (Lagos, Nigeria) shot an impressive two-under-par 69 to conclude ninth overall in the field. Pedro had an eagle, six birdies and 23 pars during the two rounds.
Senior Jonathan Chang (Valencia, Calif.) also joined Pedro within the top-30, carding a 147 (71-76) to finish tied for 29th. Chang led RU in pars with 24.
Senior Louis Bodine (Flemington, N.J.) and sophomore Matt Holuta (Indiana, Pa.) tied for 32nd in the field with two-round totals of 148, as Bodine shot one-under-par 70 during the second round. Junior Michael Howe (Temecula, Calif.) finished with an even 71 on the second day to conclude tied for 41st.
Rutgers returns to the links April 16-17, when the Scarlet Knights compete at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State, in State College, Pa.
