Women's T/F Competes at Seminole Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J.The Rutgers women's outdoor track and field squad heads down south to the Seminole Invitational on Friday and Saturday hosted by Florida State.
LAST TIME OUT:
Despite the cold, wind and rain at Bauer Track and Field Complex, the Scarlet Knight women's track and field team battled through the elements to take second place at the 2016 Metropolitan Outdoor Championships. Altogether, RU collected seven event victories including the 100m, 5000m, 100m hurdles, 4x100m and 4x800m relays, high jump and triple jump.
Three Scarlet Knights added another round of Metropolitan titles to their list of accomplishments earned throughout their careers "On The Banks".
Bryanna Grant (Cranford, N.J.) captured the triple jump crown having now won the event at both the indoor and outdoor championships in 2016. Gabrielle Farquharson (Williamstown, N.J.) brought her Metropolitan Championship title number to eight with event victories in the 100m and 4x100m. Paige Senatore (Delsea, N.J.), a two-time Metropolitan cross country champion and winner of the 1500m indoor title in 2015, brought home the 5000m title.

Sabrina Alexander
Sabrina Alexander (Millstone, N.J.) is coming off a 100m hurdles title at the Metropolitan Champions after setting a PR of 14.34 the previous weekend to qualify for the finals of the event at the Colonial Relays. In addition to taking to the track for the 100m hurdles, she will also compete in the 200m and 4x100m relay.
Deanna DiLandro
Deanna DiLandro (Oakland, N.J.) helped Rutgers to a Metropolitan title in the 4x800m relay last weekend and placed seventh in the 800m. This weekend, she will race in the 400m and 800m, as well as the 4x400m relay. DiLandro will be racing in the 400m for the first time this season having posted a PR of 1:01.53 in the event at last year's Colonial Relays.
Gabrielle Farquharson
Gabrielle Farquharson (Williamstown, N.J.) still leads the Big Ten and ranks 18th nationally in the 100m and is second in the Big Ten and 20th nationally in the 200m. At the Seminole Invitational, Farquharson will compete in the 100m, 200m, long jump and with the 4x100m and 4x400m squads.
Chamique Francis
Chamique Francis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was a part of the winning 4x100m relay team at the Metropolitan Championships and has also helped the squad to the Colonial Relays and Bulls Invitational titles earlier this season. In Tallahassee, Francis will run in the 200m and 400m, as well as the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
Phyllis Gordon
Phyllis Gordon (Neptune, N.J.) will compete in the 400m and with the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams at this weekend's Seminole Invitational. Gordon made her 400m debut last weekend and was the Metropolitan Championship runner-up. Additionally, she ran the opening leg of 4x100m relay.
Bryanna Grant
Bryanna Grant (Cranford, N.J.) has logged three straight titles in the triple jump since the outdoor season opened. She is currently ninth in the Big Ten in the event following her season opening jump of 12.18m (39' 11.5") at the Bulls Invitational. Grant will also take part in the long jump.
Sarah Robbie
Sarah Robbie (Marlton, N.J.) will race this weekend's 400m, 800m and in the 4x400m relay. Robbie was the runner-up in the 800m at the Metropolitan Championships, improving her time from the previous weekend's Colonial Relays despite the weather.
Following this weekend's competition, the Rutgers women's outdoor track and field team will head to Atlanta, Georgia for the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 22-23.
