
Men's Golf Finishes at Big Ten Championships

NEWBURGH, Ind. - Rutgers men's golf finished tied for 11th at the Big Ten Championships at the Victoria National Golf Club on Sunday in Newburgh, Ind. The Scarlet Knights concluded the championship event with a 46-over-par 910 (309-305-296), improving its 18-hole scores each day.
Illinois captured the team title with a 26-under-par 838 (279 295 264), followed by Iowa with a 13-under-par 851 (285 281 285). Maryland finished third with a two-over-par 866 (282-291-293).
Sophomore Matt Holuta (Indiana, Pa.) was the top finisher for RU with a 10-over-par 226 (76-74-76), good for a tied-for-39th result. Senior Jonathan Chang (Valencia, Calif.) placed right behind Holuta with an 11-over-par 227 (76-75-76) to finish tied for 43rd. Chang contributed an eagle during the championships.
Senior Louis Bodine (Flemington, N.J.) had the best 18-hole score during the three-day event, carding a two-under-par 70 in the final round. Bodine finished tied for 47th with a 12-over-par 228 (80-78-70), leading Rutgers in par-five scoring.
Sophomore Toks Pedro (Lagos, Nigeria) and junior Michael Howe (Temecula, Calif.) rounded out the team scoring, finishing 51st (77-78-74) and 70th (84-86-84). Pedro led the Scarlet Knights with 33 pars, while Howe produced an eagle.
