PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers gymnastics will host the 2017 Big Ten Championships at the Rutgers Athletic Center on Saturday, March 18 to highlight the schedule for the upcoming season. The Scarlet Knights will also stage three meets at the Livingston Recreation Center and one at the RAC during the course of the regular season.
"We are extremely excited to be hosting Big Ten Championships this year," sixth-year head coach Louis Levine said. "It is the first time since 2006 that we are hosting a conference championship and I can't wait to have such a prestigious event on our campus and for fans to be able to experience a competition with so much great gymnastics in one place."

The Big Ten Championships will consist of two meets on the date, with four teams competing in the afternoon and the remaining six rotating later on in the evening. Rutgers gymnastics last welcomed its conference in 2006 with the hosting of the EAGL Championships. Ticket information will be available soon.
This will mark the second Big Ten postseason event on campus since joining the league, as RU held the 2015 Big Ten Women's Lacrosse Championship at High Point Solutions Stadium.
The gymnastics regular season starts Jan. 7 with a quad meet at the Livingston Recreation Center involving New Hampshire, Bridgeport and William & Mary. The next home meet on Jan. 21 will be a quad meet also featuring Nebraska, Brown and West Chester. The following Saturday, Jan. 28, the Scarlet Knights will move over to the RAC for the third-straight season as Michigan State, Cornell and Ursinus come to town. Senior Day will be Feb. 11 at the Livingston Recreation Center versus Maryland, Penn and Yale. Season ticket information will be available soon.
"I am excited for this season's schedule, as always we have a tough conference slate along with several difficult away competitions," Levine said. "It all leads to the Big Ten Championships at the end."
Rutgers is booked for road meets in 2017 at Illinois, Ohio State, Illinois-Chicago, Towson and Central Michigan. In addition, the annual Big Five meet will be at Iowa and also includes Michigan, Minnesota and Penn State. The competition determines the rotations for the Big Ten Championships the following week at RU.
