PHILADEPHIA, Pa. – The Rutgers women's basketball team captured another road win on Monday night with an 84-67 victory over Temple at McGonigle Hall.
Rutgers (2-0) finished with four Scarlet Knights in double digits led by senior guard
Jazlynd Rollins' 12-point night. Junior center
Victoria Harris contributed 11 points and seven rebounds in the win, while redshirt sophomore guard
Ciani Cryor added in 11 in front of her hometown family and friends. Redshirt senior guard
Tyler Scaife ended the game with 10 points.

Temple's (1-1) Tanaya Atkinson and Mia Davis were responsible for 43 of the Owl's 67 points with 30 and 17 points respectively.
Rutgers endured a slow start to the game opening 0-of-8 from the field, but by the end of the first quarter, the Scarlet Knights had warmed up. RU hit 6-of-9 from long range, including junior guard
Khadaizha Sanders drilling a 3-pointer from the left side of the arc as the buzzer sounded, giving the Scarlet Knights a 24-13 edge after 10 minutes of action.
Rollins came off the bench in the second quarter to go 5-of-7 from the floor along with a pair of free throws in netting all of her team-high 12 points. With Rutgers ahead 30-20 with 6:41 remaining in the frame, the Scarlet Knight defense held the Owls without a field goal until the final minute of the quarter. During the stretch,
RU scored 14 unanswered points to take its largest lead of the game at 44-20 at the 2:15 mark.
Temple came out of the locker room for a strong third quarter outscoring the Scarlet Knights 26-21 in the stanza. The Owls whittled RU's advantage down to single digits and after a Breanna Perry jumper, Temple pulled to within seven, 55-58, with two minutes left in the quarter.
Like they did against James Madison in the season opener, the Scarlet Knights bounced back. RU closed the quarter with seven unanswered points in the final minute and continued its scoring streak over the early minutes of the fourth quarter. Harris contributed seven points during the 15-2 outburst as Rutgers re-established a 20+ point advantage.
The run was capped by a
Tyler Scaife layup giving RU a 70-50 edge with 7:18 left to play.
The Rutgers women's basketball team closes out its season opening road trip at Charlotte on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on CUSA-TV and broadcast on the Rutgers IMG Radio Network.

- Last season, Rutgers scored only 37 points against the Owls. On Monday night, the Scarlet Knights reached 37 points by the 3:44 mark of the second quarter.
- It was the first time since Jan. 4, 2017 against Wisconsin that Rutgers had four Scarlet Knights in double figures.
