Softball Set for Midweek Contest against Colgate

CLEARWATER, FLA. - The Rutgers softball team continues its week-long spring break trip with a midweek matchup against Colgate on Wednesday, March 15. The contest will take place at the Eddie C. Moore Sports Complex in Clearwater, Florida.

RU'S LAST TIME OUT
Rutgers (4-16, 0-0 Big Ten) captured a 7-0 victory over Brown to highlight its weekend at the FAU Parents' Weekend Tournament. Senior Shayla Sweeney pitched her second complete game shutout of the season, holding the Bears to seven hits and allowing no walks.
Freshman Taryn Atlee leads Rutgers and ranks seventh in the Big Ten with a .418 batting average across 20 game starts. Atlee also ranks ninth in the league with 28 hits. Junior Rebecca Hall follows with a .349 hitting clip and a team-high .714 slugging percentage. Hall is tied for fourth in the conference with six home runs and seventh with 21 RBIs.
SCOUTING COLGATE
Colgate enters the week with a record of 2-9 overall. Prior to meeting the Scarlet Knights, the Raiders have contests with Manhattan and Yale on Tuesday, March 14.
Lauren La Terra is batting a .375 to lead the team, including 12 hits, three doubles and seven RBIs. Holly Geranen follows with a .364 clip, 12 hits and three doubles. In the circle, Kyle Griswold has pitched a team-high 24.0 innings pitched and owns a 1-1 record.
