Softball Set for USF Clearwater Spring Break Classic

CLEARWATER, FLA. - The Rutgers softball team concludes its week-long trip at the Clearwater Spring Break Classic hosted by USF from March 17-19. All contests will take place across various fields at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.

RU'S LAST TIME OUT
Rutgers (4-17, 0-0 Big Ten) is coming off a one-run, 5-4, loss to Colgate on Wednesday. Junior Meaghan Wells and freshman Hailey Hoklotubbe led the squad with two hits and two RBIs each in the loss.
Freshman Taryn Atlee leads the Scarlet Knights with a .414 batting average and 29 hits. Atlee ranks eighth in the Big Ten in batting average and in hits. Junior Rebecca Hall follows with a .343 hitting clip and a team-high six home runs.
SCOUTING YALE
Yale enters the weekend with an overall record of 1-12. The Bulldogs most recently suffered an 8-0 loss to Colgate on Tuesday before dropping a pair of one-run losses to Jacksonville and South Florida on Wednesday.
Shelby Kennedy owns a team-high 13 hits to go with a .351 batting average. Terra Jerpbak leads the pitchers with 29.2 innings pitched and a 3.30 ERA.
SCOUTING MISSOURI
Missouri carries a 13-10 overall record and a 0-2 SEC mark into the tournament. The Tigers suffered a pair of losses to then-No. 1 Florida over the weekend followed by two wins over Iowa on Wednesday. Missouri dropped out of the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll this week, but continues to receive votes.
Kristen Mack guides the squad with a .339 batting average, including 21 hits, three home runs, and 10 RBIs. The pitching staff owns a total ERA of 2.85, led by Cheyenne Baxter with a 2.42 ERA in 46.1 innings pitched and a 3-2 record.
SCOUTING NORTH FLORIDA
North Florida owns a 12-13 overall record. Most recently, the Ospreys picked up a pair of wins over Columbia on Tuesday.
Navia Penrod is batting a .452 to pace the team, including 42 hits and 15 RBIs. Logan Green leads the circle with a 2.23 ERA in 89.0 innings with a 4-8 record and two saves.
SCOUTING FLORIDA A&M
Florida A&M enters the tournament with a 5-19-1 overall mark. The Rattlers are coming off a 2-3 showing at the Puetro Rico Tournament with a pair of wins over Howard.
Alexis Day leads FAMU with 19 hits and 15 RBIs to go with a .302 batting average. Kenya Pereira has pitched 80.2 innings and owns a 3.68 ERA and 1-8 record.
SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA STATE
North Dakota State sits at 10-15 overall and has won four of its last six contests. Most recently, the Bison fell to then-No. 2 Florida on Wednesday.
Zoe Stavrou leads the team in batting average (.304), hits (21) and RBIs (13). Jacqueline Sertic leads the pitchers with a 2.33 ERA in 123.0 innings and an 8-11 record.
